Our next event  is a charity event to benefit our Bhutanese friends and families. There's a lot of us that have extra items in our household just sitting around unused. On the other hand, there's people out there who need these items and yet may not be able to afford to buy on their own. This is exactly why on Saturday, November 29th, we are organizing an event where you have an opporunity to donate these items that could be utlized by the Bhutanese families.

Event Date: Saturday, November 29th, 2008
Item Drop Off Time: 1:00 - 1:45 PM
Item Pick Up Time: 2:15 - 4:00 PM
Event Location: 605 SE 39th Ave, Portland, OR 97214

The items can be dropped off at the location mentioned above between 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. We intend to invite the Bhutanese families at 2:15 PM so they can come and collect the items that they need. It will be on a first come first served basis. Items to donate can include anything such as clothes, pots, pans, maybe a small microwave, a vacuum cleaner and so on. If you have large items such as dining tables, sofa, book shelves, etc. please let us know and we can arrange something that can be dropped off directly at the recipient's place since it's not feasible to bring them inside the event room. We also request that you be considerate about the things you're donating.

Parking Information:
Here is some information regarding parking. The event will take place in a 1-story building (conference room) that is located right next to Lutheran Community Services on SE 39th Ave between Washington St and Alder St. There are parking spots outside the building and there is also street parking.

To get to the parking lot of the building:
- Head south on SE 39th Ave
- As soon as you see Lutheran Community Services on your right, take the next right on Alder St
- Take another immediate right into the parking lot of the building

We also need volunteers for setting up the items that are brought by people and for cleaning up after the event. If you are interested in helping out, please contact any of people mentioned above. We hope to see you at the event.
