Dear Oregon and SW Washington Nepali Community,
NAO proudly offers the following two courses in Fall 2023, targeting early elementary to middle school Nepali kids. Please find below, the details of each course and the registration instructions.
1. Nepali Pathshala, Fall 2023 (Sep 10- Nov 26)
- Class format- In-Person
- Class time- Sunday 10:15 -11 am
- Location- Brookwood Library, Hillsboro
- Orientation/Networking Class before the Pathshala start date- TBD
- Books and Stationery to be funded through NAO Education Fund
- Targeted Group- Elementary-Middle School kids
- Class Sign-Up- Aug 10-Aug 25
2. Arduino (an open-source platform used for building electronics projects. Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit board (often referred to as a microcontroller) and a piece of software, or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that runs on your computer, used to write and upload computer code to the physical board)
- Class format- In-Person
- Class time- Sunday 11:15 am-noon
- Location- Brookwood Library, Hillsboro
- Orientation/Networking Class before the Arduino start date- TBD
- Lab tools and equipment are to be funded through Education Fund
- Each family (participating in Nepali Pathshala/Arduino) will be charged Snacks and logistics charges ($20.00 per family).
- Targeted Group- Upper Elementary-Middle School kids
- Class Sign-Up- Aug 10-Aug 25
Note: We are open to offering the virtual Nepali Pathshala as long as there are at least 2 dedicated volunteers each week to run the classes. Any interested volunteer please contact the program coordinator and NAO EC member, Bindu KC (kcbind@gmail.com)
